What to Expect in Business School
Those who are preparing to enroll in an MBA program will no doubt be curious as to what MBA classes will be like and what they will entail. Of course, the answer to these questions will depend on a number of factors, namely the school that you’re planning to attend in addition to your specialization. Having said that, there are a few distinct things that you can expect to get out of your MBA classroom experience.
General Business Knowledge
MBA classes – especially during the first year of study – will likely focus on the core business disciplines and cover a range of topics, such as:

▪ Finance
▪ Management
▪ Organizational Behavior
▪ Marketing
You might also want to take courses that are directly related to a specialization, such as information systems management or online marketing.
Networking
Regardless of which educational facility you choose to enroll in, you’ll be encouraged and expected to be an active participant in your classes. Sometimes professors may even single you out in order to encourage you to share your particular opinions. Other times, you may be asked to participate in discussions.
Some schools also require you to be a part of study groups for every class, which may be established and assigned at the start of the school year. You may also have the chance to create your own study group or even join a group that’s already been formed by other fellow students.
