On wants to bring its customer experience to new heights. Specifically those reachable by drones.
The running shoe brand and drone-powered inventory tracking system Verity have joined forces to upgrade supply chain efficiencies and accuracy by revamping warehouse operations and reforming inventory management.
The two Swiss brands have strategically collaborated to leverage fleets of fully autonomous drones in warehouses, which Verity has previously done for Maersk and Ikea. These fleets will facilitate full operational visibility through real-time inventory tracking, which should minimize misplacements and shrinkage across the supply chain. The duo said this will guarantee “flawless” order fulfillment for e-commerce as well as brick-and-mortar.
“Verity is a pioneering brand in the field of AI and robotics and [is] a perfect fit with On’s values of harnessing innovation for the benefit of the customer experience,” said Caspar Coppetti, co-founder and executive co-chairman at On. “By leveraging innovative technological solutions, we aim to improve our operations’ efficiency further, become a more sustainable brand and take customer satisfaction to new heights. The collaboration of two pioneering Swiss brands can only mean an explosion of innovation.”
The sportswear brand tapped Verity for its expertise in robotics and AI, as the Maersk-backed startup’s solution performs millions of fully autonomous inventory checks monthly in more than 80 warehouses worldwide for clients like DSV and KeHE. Verity said that these clients see operational issue rates reduced from up to 12 percent to less than 1 percent—notably improving labor efficiency. Plus, Verity’s partners, on average, see a reduction of 1,000 tons of carbon emissions per warehouse annually.
The partnership should deliver tangible value by amplifying successful order fulfillment through improved on-time and accurate deliveries. By further digitizing On’s supply chain, the companies said, Verity strengthens its data accuracy while boosting the quality and speed of decision-making. The collaboration’s objective is to explore new technological solutions to “drive operational excellence” and augment inventory visibility, with On bringing Verity onboard with its 3PL partners.
“At Verity, we are dedicated to pushing the boundaries of AI and robotics to drive operational excellence,” said Raffaello D’Andrea, co-founder and CEO at Verity. “Partnering with On, the most exciting sportswear brand in the market today, is a great opportunity to apply our shared commitment to leveraging technology to meet customer expectations. We share the same goals with On, in particular that of delivering an exceptional customer experience. This synergy is further amplified by our highly robust systems, boasting better than 99.99 reliability rates.”
