Wawa has partnered with Relex Solutions, a supply chain and inventory management company, to deploy machine learning-based forecasting and replenishment capabilities across all 1,100 convenience stores.

Relex will provide a scalable forecasting and replenishment system for Wawa to help support growth, automate manual processes and reduce spoilage. The Relex forecasting and replenishment capabilities also support fresh food optimization.

“We are impressed with Relex’s reputation in the convenience store and retail industry and their deep understanding of its complexities,” said Nelson Griffin, chief supply chain officer at Wawa, Wawa, Pennsylvania. “Their forecasting and replenishment solution will help us maintain our high standards of product availability and freshness, ensuring we continue to exceed our customers’ expectations as we grow.”

Atlanta-based Relex has a strong presence in the convenience-store industry, addressing challenges associated with small store footprints, high product turnover and the need for precise inventory management.

“We are thrilled to welcome Wawa to the Relex family,” said Frank Lord, chief revenue officer at Relex. “This partnership will leverage our joint expertise in convenience stores to yield measurable near-term results.”

Relex is also partnered with Wesco Inc., Muskegon, Michigan, Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc., Laval, Quebec, Casey’s General Stores, Ankeny, Iowa, and more.
